Identity
2013
An exploration of my sense of identity. I am interested in how my sense of self can be directly influenced by the environment I immerse myself in. I photographed myself within my city dwelling in canberra. Surrounded by my possessions and the things I use to create the image called 'Janet'.
Along with images of the wild lands, where I wandered, bare, vulnerable and in constant awe of the beauty surrounding me. I found my senses awakening; through dances of animal mimicry, the smells of damp decay, feeling the rich cold wriggling earth between my toes, an eerie quietness and states of foolishness and fear as the soft skinned ape moved vulnerably within its forgotten home.
The journey to connect and familiarise myself with this wild-one continues.
